Delete Your PlayToday Account

Last updated: August 24, 2026

You can delete your PlayToday account at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone — we cannot restore a deleted account, and signing up again creates a new one.

Option 1: Delete it yourself in the app

This is immediate and is the fastest way.

  • Open the PlayToday app
  • Go to Profile
  • Tap Delete Account
  • Type DELETE to confirm

Your account is deleted straight away. No waiting period, no follow-up email.

Option 2: Ask us to delete it

If you can't access the app — you've changed phone number, lost the device, or removed the app already — email support@playtoday.ai from the email address on your account, or include the phone number you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account.

We'll verify that the request comes from the account holder before doing anything, since an unverified request would let someone else delete your account. We complete verified requests within 30 days, and usually within a few business days.

What gets deleted

  • Your login. Your phone number and email are removed from our authentication system and you can no longer sign in.
  • Your personal details. First and last name, phone number, email address, profile photo, date of birth, gender, and emergency contact details are erased.
  • Your club and group memberships. You are removed from every club, player group, and staff role.
  • Your notification tokens. Push notification registrations are deleted and you stop receiving notifications.
  • Your saved players. Favourites you saved, and entries where other players saved you, are removed.

Your phone number is fully released, so it can be used to create a brand-new account later if you ever come back.

What we keep, and why

Content you posted stays in the groups you posted it to, shown as “Former member” with no name, photo, or contact details attached. That includes group chat messages and games you organised or joined.

We do this because that content belongs to a shared conversation. Removing one player's messages would tear holes in group chats other people still rely on, and would erase games that other members played in and still want a record of. What is left cannot be linked back to you: the identifying information is gone, and there is no way to reconnect “Former member” to a real person.

How long we keep it

Personal information is erased at the moment of deletion, not on a schedule. The anonymised record described above is kept indefinitely so that group conversations and game history stay intact for the other members involved.

Encrypted database backups are retained for 7 days for disaster recovery. Deleted personal information may persist in those backups until they age out, after which it is gone permanently.
